Sponsored by Frank H. Kautsky, a grocery store owner on the southside of Indy, the Kautsky's debuted on the amateur circuit in 1930 before joining the newly formed National Basketball League for its inaugural 1932-33 season. A season in which the Kautskys blazed their way straight to the championship. When the NBL folded after just one season, the Kautsky's took their act on the road, playing many of the eras top draws including the NY Rens and Original Celtics.
This shirt's design was inspired by what we thought Mr. Kautsky, may have outfitted their floor leader John Wooden (the future "Wizard of Westwood", then better known as the "Indiana Rubber Man") in.
